Be a U.S. citizen and a registered voter

Be eligible to hold public office under Indiana law
Not have served more than
two terms in a 12-year period

The position of Sheriff is a full-time executive and operational leadership role. The salary is set by the county council, in 2024 was $117,233.00 and typically includes benefits and retirement eligibility.
