Members of the U.S. House of Representatives:
Draft and vote on federal legislation
Serve on key congressional committees
Help shape national policy on healthcare, the economy, education, and more
Represent the interests and voices of local constituents at the federal level
Provide constituent services and respond to the needs of the district
As a representative, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on both local communities and national direction.
To run for the U.S. House of Representatives, you must:
Be at least 25 years old
Be a U.S. citizen for at least 7 years
Be an
inhabitant of the state of Indiana at the time of the election
You do not need to reside within the 4th District boundaries specifically—but you must live in Indiana.
Members of Congress serve two-year terms
Elections are held during even-numbered years
The next election for this seat is in 2026
